Project 1: EMS Station
This page is a documentation of my EMS Station that was built for CP science. The problem I was trying to solve was to make a custom made EMS station to work with the SNAP coding program and create the final project of a door opening and closing whenever an emergency happens.

Design process
The design process for the EMS station was to build a small cube box with a garage door that the hummingbird kit’s position servo can use to open it whenever a emergency happens and the SNAP code starts the code so the garage door will open
Sketches
The box first started as a big box with a cut out door and it’s main use was to open the door for the station but it’s biggest problem was it lacked stability and it flopped down a lot. In order to fix this I made a base for below the box so it would’nt flop over and this solved the problem but now the next thing to do was to build a moving door using the position servo

Final design concept (Much more like a station)
This was the final design and there is huge difference in quality, the first one was just a box but now there’s new things, there is an open and closing door powered by the position servo, and speaking of that, the position servo powers almost how the station starts. The stand was to support the weight from the servo but also serves as decoration. The car I used was a lightning Mqueen toy car, it works.
SNAP Code
I used the program called SNAP to make a code for fire station and in the program I connected the hummingbird kit to the computer and started coding, there is many different sections for the code but here is each.
Alonzo code
The main function for the Alonzo code is whenever the program is started it switches costumes when it touches it’s other sprites and plays an alarm by using the Hummingbird kid sound sensor. It also serves as the main control for you to use digitally.
Fire station code
The main function for the fire station was to control the physical things for the program, it controlled the light, position servo, and values so everything holds together digitally and it works physically.
The 3 emergencies code
The overall main function for the emergencies sprites was to start the code when triggered, they added to the code and serve as the main pillar for Alonzo’s and the EMS station’s code can start.
